(b)  GENPACT

The company is working on a plan to set up an IT/ITeS special economic zone (SEZ). The techno-campus is expected to cost about Rs 121 crore and employ about 5,000 professionals. 

Government of Andhra Pradesh is significantly accelerating investments in the area of IT/ITES and achieving greater geographical dispersion of the industry within the State. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has entered into an MoU with Genpact on 22-06-2007 for allotment of about 50 acres of HUDA land in Jawahar Nagar, Shamirpet Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, for their expansion in the State. 

Genpact will construct about 10 lakh sq.ft of state-of-the-art IT/ITES office space with an investment of over Rs.121 crores and would be developing the entire area as an IT/ITES Special Economic Zone for its own use.

·  Biological E Pvt Ltd has acquired 50 acres of land for   setting up a Rs 100 crore vaccine manufacturing plant.

·  Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd plans to invest about Rs 120  crore in its proposed R&D centre in phase II of the SP   Biotech Park.

·  Aktiva Biotech, a Hyderabad-based biopharmaceutical firm, has begun construction of its production plant at the SP Biotech Park.

·  Work has also commenced on setting up an R&D center for US-based Genotech and KCP Biotech.  

(d)  GIGA CITY 

GIGA CITY, The IT & Knowledge Destination at Shamirpet Mandal
HUDA is in the process of planning a world-class township spanning 2000 acres beyond Secunderabad Cantonment. Giga City will serve as a hotbed for the IT industry, Educational institutions etc. Institutions such as BITS have already become a part of this ongoing development. HUDA is in the process of drafting a Master Plan for Giga City which is four times that of Cyberabad.

This project is to be announced by HUDA very shortly.

·  XLRI is spreading its wings to the cyber city of Hyderabad by way of starting a second campus there on a 30-acre plot located on the 135-acre Society of Jesuits-run Loyola College premises at Alwal in the city.

·  The B-School has planned to start its regular two-year courses in business gement (BM), personnel management & industrial relations (PM&IR) there from the academic year 2009-10. 

·  One of the India’s top most NALSAR Law University and premier medical institute MEDI CITY HOSPITAL also located in vicinity at Shamirpet. BITS Pilani is establishing their Hyderabad Center at Jawahar Nagar. There is also a government proposal to make Jawahar Nagar in Shamirpet Mandal as the IT hub of Hyderabad North. 

·  Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), has announced that launch of its third campus in India at Hyderabad. The BITS campus at Hyderabad is spread over 200 acres of land at Jawahar Nagar near Shamirpet in Rangareddy district.

.   BITS-Pilani campus here, it was coming up on 200 acres of land with an investment of Rs.2.8 billion and would be ready by August 2008. The Hyderabad campus of BITS-Pilani will start offering degrees in engineering and sciences from the 2008-09 academic year and the initial intake would be around 600. Birla said the intake would be doubled each year and the entire institute with full capacity would be ready by 2011.

ORR Growth Corridor 

The Hyderabad Urban Development Authority has taken up the development of the 162 Kms. proposed Outer Ring Road. 

As the development of the access controlled Outer Ring Road is likely to trigger large scale development along the Outer Ring Road Corridor the Government had directed Hyderabad Urban Development Authority to undertake preparation of Comprehensive Development Plan with hierarchal road network and frame Special Development Regulation for the areas falling under 1 K.M., belt on either side of Outer Ring Road so as to promote planned development and curb haphazard and Ribbon Development, along the Outer Ring Road. 

Hyderabad Urban Development Authority, which will be duly examined and considered as provided in the Andhra Pradesh Urban Areas (Development) Act, 1975 and Rules there under by the HUDA and the Government before final approval of the Comprehensive Plan and Special Development Regulations. After approval of the plan by the Government as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Urban Areas (Development) Act 1975, the plan will come into force and Master Plan and Zonal Development Plan in the same jurisdiction will stand superseded. 

·  No expansion of existing industries and no new industries shall be permitted.

·  First 500 mtrs from edge of ORR ROW named as SDZ1 and the next 500 mtrs named SDZ2.

·  Regulated Height Zones (buildings 18 mtrs and above to be allowed only)

·  Common Building Line is allowed- 15 mtrs on the ORR (rear setback)

·  Properties shall not open on the service road directly-No structure, projections, hoardings allowed within this building line-Development between 10th mtr to 15th mtr from the outer edge of the ORR ROW allowed.

·  Minimum Independent plot size minimum1200 sq. mtrs allowed for Construction.

OUTER RING ROAD DETAILS WITH DISTANCES FROM VARIOUS JUNCTIONS 

·  The Expressway is considered important to decongest the city of Hyderabad and   cater to the requirements of the upcoming Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

·  Land: 314 acres of land acquired for ORR

            ORR Phase-II to Get On Fast Track

·  The 72-km phase-II work of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project from Peddamberpet to Patancheru is set to get on the fast track with the Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) agreeing to clear a Rs 2,000-crore loan quickly. 

·  ORR phase-II is being taken up from Shamshabad to Patancheru. It is divided into A and B. Phase II-A again is divided into two stretches—Shamshabad to Peddamberpet and Narsingi to Patancheru. The project cost of phase II-A is Rs 1,800 crore while for phase II-B it is Rs 2,090 crore. 

·  For the stretch from Narsingi to Patancheru, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has called for tenders.
For the stretch from Shamshabad to Peddamberpet, tenders will be opened shortly.
 

           Jawahar Nagar Information 

·  2,000-acre Giga City in Jawahar Nagar for residential, commercial and educational projects, IT and ITES. About 200 acres in this layout is already allotted to BITS Pilani to set up its Hyderabad campus. The work would commence after the finalization of the Master Plan exclusively for Jawahar Nagar area being developed by a private consultancy. 

·  Government proposal to make Jawahar Nagar in Shameerpet Mandal as the IT hub of Hyderabad North.
